These staple sneakers were born after ANATOMICA developed an original shoe last and produced 12 different samples.

Because we prioritize fitting above all else, we have never sold them via mail order before, but with the completion of a "paper measurement sheet" that allows you to measure your feet at home, they are now available on our official online shop for the first time.

As the words "SCIENTIFIC SHOE FITTING" on the insole suggest, they feature the "asymmetric inside-straight, outside-curve" shape characteristic of orthopedic shoes.

The arch of the foot is held firmly, and there is extra space (toe spring/allowance) in the toe area. This creates a stress-free wearing experience. As these are shoes with extra space, it is ideal that your toes do not touch the front. The ideal size is one where you feel more room at the toes than in the shoes you normally wear, while still feeling the support in your arch.

They use the "vulcanized method," which is rarely used nowadays. Instead of stitching the canvas upper to the rubber sole, they are bonded together by heat and pressure, achieving a soft, natural fit that feels like being barefoot.

　What to prepare: Paper measurement sheet, tape, pen, and a box-like object.
1. Print the paper measurement sheet (please print on A4 paper at "actual size." If the print size is off, your measurements will be off as well.)
2. Fold the measurement sheet into a valley fold along the "guide line."
3. Place a box-like object (you can use stacked books or magazines as a substitute) along a wall, align the valley-folded edge of the measurement sheet against it, and tape it to the floor.
4. Align your heel with the "guide line," and if it is your left foot, align the inner side of your left foot with the vertical "guide line." Keep your feet together and look straight down in a natural posture. Use a pen to mark the spot where the longest part of your foot points. (Please be careful not to injure your toes.) This is your foot length. Leaning too far forward or having your weight on your heels may lead to choosing the wrong size.
5. Measure the other foot as well, as most people have a difference between their left and right feet. Choose the size based on the longer foot. If you are concerned about foot width or instep height, please be sure to contact us. We recommend taking a photo from directly above and sending it with your inquiry. Depending on the width and instep, we may recommend a size half a size larger or smaller than the length indicated.
