This classic sneaker was born after ANATOMICA developed an original last and went through 12 rounds of sample production.
Because we prioritize fitting above all else, we have not previously sold this item online. However, with the completion of our "paper measurement sheet" that allows you to measure your feet at home by yourself, it is now available on our official online shop for the first time.
As the phrase "SCIENTIFIC SHOE FITTING" on the insole suggests, the shoe features an "asymmetric inside-straight, outside-curve" shape unique to orthopedic footwear.
The shoe holds the arch of your foot and includes "toe spring" (extra space at the toes). This design creates a stress-free fit. Because of this extra space, the ideal fit is one where your toes do not touch the front of the shoe. You should feel more room in the toes than in your usual footwear while feeling a secure hold at your arch.
We utilize the "vulcanized construction" method, which is rarely used nowadays. By heat-bonding the canvas upper to the rubber sole rather than sewing them together, we have achieved a soft fit that feels closer to being barefoot.

If you already own a pair or have been measured at one of our directly managed stores, please use that size.
What you will need: The paper measurement sheet, tape, a pen, and a box-shaped object.
1. Print the paper measurement sheet (Please print on A4 paper at "Actual Size." If the print size is inaccurate, the measured value will also be inaccurate.)
2. Fold the measurement sheet along the "guide line" (valley fold).
3. Place a box-shaped object (a stack of books or magazines works) against a wall, align the valley-folded edge of the measurement sheet against it, and tape it to the floor.
4. Align your heel with the "guide line." If measuring your left foot, align the inner side of your foot along the vertical "guide line." Stand naturally with your feet together and look straight down. Use a pen to mark where your longest toe ends. (Please be careful not to hurt your toes.) That mark represents your foot length. Leaning too far forward or putting your weight on your heels may result in choosing the wrong size.
5. Measure your other foot in the same way, as most people have a slight difference in size between their left and right feet. Choose the size based on the larger foot. If you are concerned about foot width or instep height, please be sure to contact us. We recommend sending a photo taken from directly above when inquiring. Depending on your foot width and instep, we may recommend going up or down a half size from your measured foot length.
